We're seeking a Generator & Motor Design Engineer with expertise in electrical generator and motor machinery development. The ideal candidate is fully conversant with electric motor and generator technologies. In this role, you will work closely with our engineering team to develop new and novel solutions and be responsible for the design, engineering and analytical validation of supporting generator frame components including structures, tooling and fixtures. Knowledge or exposure to permanent magnet designs, their engineering, analysis and fabrication is highly desired but not essential.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizens only
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics or Mechanical Engineering
  • 10+ years professional experience
  • Industry experience with electrical motors, generators and magnetic machinery is essential
  • Working knowledge of finite element analysis applications for structural, thermal and electromagnetic systems is helpful
  • Comfortable splitting time between electrical engineering and mechanical engineering and pursuing solutions that combine both disciplines appropriately
  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems, interpret technical design data and develop creative solutions to complex problems
  • Ability to interact with a variety outside suppliers and service providers is important
  • Be able to provide constructive input and feedback to other engineering project team members
