GIS Specialist

Join our team and help keep city maps accurate and up-to-date! We’re looking for a detail-oriented individual to work with geographic data, review maps, and ensure real-world accuracy using GIS tools.

What You’ll Do

• Review and update digital maps using GIS software (like ArcGIS or QGIS)
• Compare map data with aerial imagery to spot and fix errors
• Update names, classifications, and attributes in GIS datasets
• Assist with data entry, cleanup, and quality checks
• Maintain organized and accurate records

What We’re Looking For

• Basic knowledge of GIS concepts (layers, attributes, projections)
• Familiarity with spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
• Willingness to learn and follow data standards

Preferred (Nice to Have)

• Experience with GPS data collection
• Basic GIS editing (points, lines, polygons)
• Understanding of data quality or metadata

Education

• Coursework or degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Urban Planning, or related field
