About the Position
We are currently seeking an experienced GIS Analyst to join our growing team in New Orleans, LA. The ideal candidate possesses 1 year of related experience and wants to grow, collaborate, and innovate. In this position, the successful candidate will perform GIS analysis for clients across the United States. Projects will span across multiple markets and geographies affording opportunities for broadening knowledge and deepening skill sets related to design projects. We are seeking someone who can be an independent self-starter.
Experience and Qualifications
- Knowledge of the principles of geographic information science and GIS technology. Extensive skill in the use of GIS software, particularly ArcGIS Desktop.
- Knowledge of the principles of data entry, including heads-up digitizing of data from aerial photography.
- Experience compiling spatial data using field methods, georeferencing, and data extraction through remote sensing.
- Ability to produce standard and custom maps using ArcGIS software.
- Knowledge of the fundamentals of Global Positioning System and skill in the use of GPS technology for data collection. Ability to understand and employ LiDAR data.
- Completes assigned work on time and within budget.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures.
Essential Job Functions
- Inventories, reviews, and organizes client and field furnished data.
- Converts and develops data to GIS format for assigned projects.
- Develops data in compliance to client/organization data standards.
- Must be able to perform field GPS Data Collection as project needs dictate.
- Supports Planning team with on-site workshop and /or data collection exercises; records notes and takes photos as assigned by the Task Manager.
- Reviews and analyzes government database information including real property records, force structure/manning reports, facility condition assessments, geodatabases and programming documentation.
- Provides map analysis related to regional demographics, site conditions, and planning alternatives.
- Renders site plans into aesthetic map products.

Additional Information
Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a GIS Analyst I with a salary range of $49,600.00 - $71,600.00 .
