General Description of Duties Under supervision, trains to perform duties associated with creating and maintaining the City’s GIS databases. Analyzes, interprets and prepares paper and digital maps and performs data entry tasks. Performs related duties as assigned. Essential Job Functions Creates and maintains GIS databases. Performs data entry tasks in both GIS and spreadsheet software. Ability to interpret and locate historical records for digitization. Creates professional maps that depict data clearly. Participates in researching, testing, and implementing GIS strategies. Identifies and solves GIS related problems. Assist other departments as necessary. Qualifications Education and Experience Guidelines Must be a currently enrolled college student at either the undergraduate or graduate level. All majors accepted. Knowledge, Abilities and Skills Basic knowledge of the ESRI software suite (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, etc.) Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.) Proficiency in basic computer operation skills.
