WCP is searching for an experienced Quality Manager to manage all facets of quality control within our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will play a lead role in implementing and maintaining a robust quality management system to ensure we consistently exceed industry standards and customer expectations for our products. This position is pivotal to WCPs commitment to deliver best in class quality management to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Reporting directly to the Head of Manufacturing, your responsibilities will include both internal quality control and external quality concerns to promptly resolve customer issues. Additionally, you will take charge of 5S and 5Whys continuous improvement initiatives across the facility, collaborating with the engineering and manufacturing teams for support.

Given the dual focus on internal and external aspects of this role, a solid understanding of WCPs' value proposition, customer service principles, and commitment to quality and on-time delivery is essential. The primary emphasis will be on customer service and quality, involving a deep dive into understanding customer value propositions and requirements. Simultaneously, you will play a key role in working with the front office team to support and educate customers about WCPs' value proposition.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality Management System: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive quality management system that meets WCPs exceedingly high-quality requirements and specific industry standards and regulatory requirements.

2. Quality Assurance: Establish and monitor quality control procedures, guidelines, and inspection processes to ensure products meet WCPs defined quality and performance standards.

3. Quality Audits: Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with quality standards and identify areas for improvement. Coordinate internal/external audits as required.

4. Defect Analysis: Lead the investigation and analysis of product defects and non-conformance issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

5. Statistical Process Control (SPC): Implement SPC tools to monitor and control variations in manufacturing processes, ensuring consistency and quality.

6. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date quality documentation, including quality manuals, procedures, work instructions, and records.

7. Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with the procurement team to establish and maintain supplier quality standards, perform supplier audits, and manage supplier corrective actions.

8. Training: Develop and deliver quality-related training programs for manufacturing personnel.

9. Continuous Improvement: Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, operational efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

10. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, standards, and certifications.

11. Quality Metrics: Define and track key quality performance metrics, reporting regularly to management and making recommendations for improvements.

12. Team Leadership: Mentor the production team & front office staff, providing guidance, support, and fostering a culture of quality within the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline). Relevant work experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of [3] years of experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in quality management systems and tools, including Lean, and statistical process control.
  • Customer facing experience.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and people skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to ensuring the exceptional product quality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Manager of Quality/Organizational Excellence).
  • Experience within the flat glass, automotive glass, or glazing industry.
  • Proficiency in quality software and data analysis tools.
