Job Title: Global Demand Planner

Location: Phoenix / Goodyear, AZ (On-Site) Department: Business Unit Management Employment Type: Full-Time | Exempt

About GTI Fabrication

GTI Fabrication designs and manufactures custom modular enclosures, energy systems, and industrial structures for energy, defense, and heavy-industrial markets. As GTI scales production and expands our product portfolio, the alignment between future customer demand and operational capacity has become critical to our long-term success.

To support our rapid growth, GTI is hiring a Global Demand Planner to serve as the strategic bridge between Business Development, Operations, Engineering, Production Control, and Finance. This individual will ensure accurate visibility into upcoming customer programs, forecast long-range demand, and validate whether GTI has the labor, equipment, materials, and manufacturing capacity required to support future growth.

Position Overview

The Global Demand Planner is responsible for building and maintaining GTI’s forward-looking demand forecast based on sales pipeline activity, customer commitments, BD intelligence, and program timelines. This role will analyze future business opportunities to determine labor, material, and manufacturing capacity requirements — ensuring GTI does not overcommit, under-resource, or miss strategic growth opportunities.

This role requires strong analytical capability, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to translate sales opportunities into clear operational forecasts and capacity plans.

Key Responsibilities

Demand Forecasting & Pipeline Visibility

· Partner with Business Development to collect, track, and interpret upcoming opportunities, RFPs, contract awards, and program expansions.

· Build long-range demand models (12–36 months) for new and existing customers.

· Translate BD pipeline data into forecasted volumes, revenue expectations, and production start dates.

· Create and maintain dashboards showing demand by customer, product line, and program lifecycle.

Capacity & Resource Planning

· Develop capacity models to determine labor, equipment, tooling, and manufacturing hours required to support forecasted demand.

· Compare upcoming program needs to GTI’s available fabrication, welding, assembly, electrical, machining, and integration capacity.

· Identify constraints (labor shortages, bottleneck work centers, equipment limitations, vendor supply challenges) and propose mitigation strategies.

· Partner with Production Control and Operations leadership to validate that schedules, layouts, and staffing align with upcoming workload.

Operational Readiness & Scenario Planning

· Run “what-if” scenarios to evaluate the impact of new business wins, schedule shifts, or scope changes.

· Support GTI’s strategic planning efforts by providing accurate demand signals for hiring plans, tooling investments, and capital expenditure decisions.

· Assess whether GTI can support new opportunities without overcommitting or impacting existing programs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Serve as the forecasting liaison between Business Development, Operations, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain.

· Provide demand-driven insights to Engineering for NPI planning, long-lead materials, and engineering resource allocation.

· Partner with Supply Chain to generate long-term material demand signals and reduce supply risk.

· Deliver forecast updates to executive leadership with clear risk indicators and confidence levels.

Reporting, Analytics & Governance

· Maintain standardized demand planning tools, reports, and methodologies.

· Develop KPI dashboards that track forecast accuracy, pipeline conversion rates, and capacity utilization.

· Provide monthly and quarterly forecasting updates to executive leadership.

· Ensure alignment between CRM/BD pipeline data and Operations planning systems.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Finance, or related field.

· 3–7 years of experience in Demand Planning, S&OP, Capacity Planning, or Program Planning in a manufacturing environment.

· Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar forecasting tools.

· Experience translating pipeline activity into operational requirements.

· Understanding of manufacturing processes such as fabrication, welding, assembly, machining, and electrical integration.

· Strong communication skills with the ability to present complex data to non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

· Experience in high-mix, engineered-to-order manufacturing.

· Background in S&OP, MRP/ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).

· Familiarity with forecasting models, scenario planning, and resource modeling.

· Ability to work with Business Development and Operations simultaneously.

· Advanced Power BI or analytics expertise.

Success in This Role Looks Like:

· GTI has accurate, forward-looking visibility into upcoming business demand.

· Leadership clearly understands whether upcoming work exceeds, matches, or underutilizes manufacturing capacity.

· No overcommitments to customers due to lack of resourcing.

· Operations receives proactive signals for hiring, materials, and equipment needs.

· BD, Operations, and Finance are aligned around a unified demand plan.
