Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

A contract position is available for a Special Education Teacher serving students across multiple grade levels, including K-5, 6-8, 9-12, and high school. This role involves providing specialized instruction and support within self-contained classrooms, resource settings, and special day classrooms. The position will be based in Lake Bluff, IL, and runs from January 2026 through June 2026.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs.
  • Deliver differentiated instruction to support academic, social, and emotional growth of students with special needs.
  • Monitor and assess student progress regularly, modifying instruction as necessary.
  • Collaborate with general education staff, therapists, families, and administrators to ensure a comprehensive educational experience.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with all stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Active State Teaching License for special education required.
  • Experience working with K-12 students in special education settings.
  • Ability to manage diverse classroom environments including self-contained classrooms and resource rooms.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning atmosphere.

Position Details:

  • Contract duration: January 2026 to June 2026
  • Work schedule: 30 to 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week
  • Student caseload includes a range of ages and learning needs
