Key Responsibilities:
As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our projects. You will be involved in:
- Measuring and Pricing Work at Tender Stage: You will attend site visits, measure off drawings, procure materials, and work with subcontractors and suppliers to price Bills of Quantities. You will also learn to price rates from the ground up.
- Procurement of Subcontractors and Materials: Once a project is live, you will be responsible for procuring subcontractors and materials, ensuring the smooth progression of the project.
- Valuations and Claims: You will be involved in the valuation process and assist in the preparation of claims.
- Subcontractor Payments: Managing and processing payments to subcontractors in an accurate and timely manner.
- Remeasures and Certifications: Performing re-measures and certification tasks.
- RFIs and Variations: Handling Requests for Information (RFIs) and variations efficiently, contributing to project success.
- PM support: Assist the Project Manager and Engineer in performing junior Project Manager duties, which may encompass tasks such as site setting out, to support the successful execution of construction projects.
Requirements:
To excel in this role, you should meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Knowledge: Some understanding of engineering or setting out would be advantageous as you'll collaborate closely with our experienced team.
- Driving License: A valid driving license is essential, and having access to a car would be ideal for site visits and project requirements.
- Garda Vetting: The nature of our work requires candidates to be eligible for Garda Vetting.
