Job Title Graduate Student Research Assistant in Computer Science/Cybersecurity Position Type Position Type Student Division Division Academic Affairs Department Department Computer Science Job Description Angelo State University’s Department of Computer Science is seeking highly motivated graduate students majoring in Computer Science or Cybersecurity to join a research and development team working on a U.S. Department of Defense-funded project in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. This opportunity is part of ASU’s $299,999 subaward from the Department of Defense through Texas Tech University, aimed at enhancing cybersecurity research and workforce development. The selected students will work closely with faculty and collaborators from TTU and UTSA to develop innovative solutions for national defense challenges, particularly in West Texas. Responsibilities: Contribute to R&D in areas such as: AI-driven threat detection Knowledge graph-based cyber threat intelligence Explainable AI for critical infrastructure systems Participate in software development, data analysis, and system prototyping Present findings in reports, posters, papers, or conferences Optionally intern at Army Research Lab facilities as part of the program Hands-on experience with a federally funded research project Mentorship from ASU faculty with expertise in cybersecurity and AI Internship opportunities at Army Research Laboratory facilities Contribution to real-world DoD cybersecurity solutions For more information contact: Dr. Erdoğan Doğdu Chair, Department of Computer Science erdogan.dogdu@angelo.edu 325-486-5444 Dr. Roya Choupani Assoc.
