For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $22.50 - $35.50 per hour. In addition, this position is eligible for overtime pay and recognition programs. The compensation rate is for candidates located within the United States. Individual pay is determined by several factors including knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Schneider Electric is seeking a Graduate Student Software Engineer Co‑Op to join our Next‑Generation SDA (Software Defined Automation) project initiative in our Foxboro, MA office. In this role, you will collaborate with our engineering team to contribute to the development of scalable industrial automation software systems. You will actively contribute to end‑to‑end software development — from evaluating open‑source technologies and developing user interfaces to implementing modular microservices and deploying them on‑premises targets. This role offers hands‑on experience in building scalable, cloud‑ready components and modern web interfaces using .NET, C#, and front‑end frameworks like React or Angular. The co‑op begins in June of the fall semester. You must submit an online application to be considered for this position. The Company will accept applications on an ongoing basis until the position is filled. What will you do? Design, develop, and implement components for a modular, scalable industrial application using C#, .NET, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (React/Angular). Build and test web‑based user interfaces that deliver a seamless and intuitive experience for industrial automation operators. Integrate and prototype AI‑assisted rule engines and smart decision systems within the platform. Implement microservices and APIs ensuring secure, efficient communication between distributed system components. Participate in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) using best practices in Git‑based version control, CI/CD, and Agile methodology. Collaborate cross‑functionally with other developers, testers, and automation engineers to deliver production‑ready features. What qualifications will make you successful for this role? Solid understanding of web application development using HTML, CSS, JS (React or Angular), and .NET / C# frameworks. Familiarity with object‑oriented programming, REST APIs, and general software engineering principles. Currently pursuing a MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Required. Available to work full‑time starting May/June 2026 through the end of the fall semester in our Foxboro, MA office. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time, ongoing basis. The company does not provide immigration sponsorship now or in the future. Preferred Skills Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS preferred). Exposure to event driven microservices (MQTT, RabbitMQ, NATS). Experience developing complex web applications. Leverage AI / Copilot to develop software applications. Strong problem‑solving abilities and a proactive learning mindset. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Detail‑oriented, organized, and analytical approach to software design. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced technical environment. Hands‑on experience in testing, debugging, and deployment of web applications.
