Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Grant Accountant to oversee the financial management and compliance aspects of grants and contracts. This position involves ensuring adherence to federal, state, and tribal regulations, while maintaining accurate financial records and reports. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in grant financial management and a proactive approach to working independently in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
• Manage budgets, financial reporting, and compliance for grants and contracts in alignment with federal, state regulations.
• Analyze and interpret grant documents to ensure proper financial compliance and accurate reporting.
• Perform account reconciliations, balance sheet reviews, and journal entry adjustments.
• Utilize fund accounting software to maintain accurate general ledger records and ensure proper allocation of funds.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate financial procedures and resolve issues related to grant management.
• Assist with month-end close processes, including preparing financial statements and reconciling accounts.
• Maintain organized records and ensure data confidentiality in all financial documentation.
• Support other accounting functions as needed to foster teamwork and operational efficiency.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance grant and contract management.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting to grantors and regulatory bodies.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years of experience in managing government grants and contracts at federal, state, or local levels.
• Proficiency in fund accounting, general ledger management, and financial reporting requirements.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state grant compliance regulations.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs and experience with multi-fund accounting software.
• Excellent organizational, record-keeping, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
