Grinding And Deburring Operator Apply
Job Summary:
The Deburr Operator performs a variety of operations to remove burrs or sharp edges, clean surfaces on any bars or parts manufactured, prior to final inspection.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Reads and interprets blueprints.
- Properly and safely loads and unloads raw materials.
- Proficient in the use of measuring instruments.
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Use belt sanders, abrasive charged wheels, fixtures, foot or hand presses, files, scrapers, solvents, and other hand tools.
- Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding set up.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows safety regulations.
- Must be able to perform but not limited to the following tasks: drilling, tumbling deburring, bench operations and inspection of parts.
- Performs prescribed preventative maintenance on machines as required per the PM charts.
- Must be familiar with the basic machine functions in order to perform the tasks stated above.
- Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery.
- Assists in the organization and maintenance of the machine shop work environment.
- Provides constant feedback and input into process improvement within the department.
- Basic understanding and ability to follow manufacturing processes and procedures.
- Utilizes and abides by ISO requirements and safety procedures.
- Comply with all quality policies, specifications, regulations, and instructions.
- Communicates thoughts and ideas, both verbally and in writing, to co-workers and management
- Attend scheduled meetings and actively participate by providing meaningful input.
- Flexibility with time and schedule to assure availability to customer or company as circumstances warrant.
- Communicates honestly, professionally, and respectfully with others and demonstrates effective listening skills.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Education and Experience:
- Ability to understand basic mechanical and manufacturing techniques.
- 3+ years preferred experience and /or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to stand, and reach the duration of shift, 8-10 hours.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
- Frequently required to perform repetitive or short-cycles work.
- Regularly lift, push, or pull up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.
- Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles resulting from metalworking coolants/oils.
- The noise level in the work environment is generally loud, in which hearing protection is required.
