JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for an upbeat quick learner to work the evening (3pm-11pm) shift Accommodate Sanibel Captiva Beach Resorts hotel and resort patrons by registering & assigning rooms & day passes to arriving guests, issuing room keys, transmitting & receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms & guests' accounts, and presenting statements to & collecting payments from departing guests.

Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift

Education:

  • High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

  • Hotel experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Work Location: In person

Requirements

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks:  Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of the resort

 Verify customers' credit, and establish how the customer will pay for their accommodation

 Keep records of room availability and guests' accounts, manually or using computers

 Compute bills, collect payments, and make changes for guests

 Perform simple bookkeeping activities, such as, balancing cash accounts

 Issue room keys and escort instructions to bellman

 Review accounts and charges with guests during the check-out process

 Post charges, e.g. for rooms, food, liquor, or telephone calls, to ledgers manually or by using computers

 Transmit and receive messages using telephone system.

 Contact housekeeping or maintenance staff when guests report problems

 Make and confirm reservations (if needed)

 Answer inquiries pertaining to hotel services, registration of guests, as well as local shopping, dining, entertainment and travel directions

 Record guest comments or complaints, referring customers to managers as necessary

 Advise housekeeping staff when rooms have been vacated and are ready for cleaning

 Arrange tours, taxis or restaurant reservations for guests

 Date-stamp, sort, and rack incoming mail and messages
