You’ll be joining a collaborative, technically driven environment where individual contribution is recognised and valued.The RoleWorking alongside the Test Engineering department, you will be responsible for building, commissioning, and maintaining automated and manual test equipment used both internally and by external customers.The role combines practical hardware assembly with technical problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild, test, and commission hardware test equipmentCollaborate with Test Development Engineers on hardware selection and designSource components, materials, and test equipmentTranslate product specifications into power distribution, safety circuits, and protective housingsCarry out mechanical and electrical assemblyInterpret equipment specifications and generate channel listsLiaise with suppliers, service providers, and external test facilitiesWork closely with internal teams and customersApply IEC electrical safety standards and support high-voltage testingProvide progress updates to project teams and engineering managementAbout YouStrong background in testing, development, hardware build, or related engineering disciplinesAble to work independently with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail with a quality-focused approachConfident interpreting test standards, specifications, and customer requirementsExperience supporting prototype and proof-of-concept buildsComfortable engaging with customers, suppliers, and external partnersAble to work under pressure and meet deadlinesProficient with Microsoft OfficeDesirable ExperienceKnowledge of CAD software (ideally SolidWorks)Familiarity with IEC electrical safety standards and safety testingUnderstanding of IPC manufacturing standardsExposure to automotive, railway, or BS standardsWhy Apply?This is an excellent opportunity to secure a long-term contract with a highly respected engineering organisation, working on technically interesting projects within a supportive and professional team environment.Unfortunately our client is unable to offer sponsorship on this role
