Hatchery Maintenance Lead Apply
Summary:
The Hatchery Maintenance Lead oversees and performs maintenance and repair of all equipment, systems, and structures within the hatchery. This role ensures operations run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. The Maintenance Lead coordinates daily tasks, leads maintenance team members, and supports operational continuity.
Reports To: Hatchery Manager
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Support company vision, mission, and values.

Lead and coordinate the daily activities of the hatchery maintenance team.

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including HVAC, incubators, hatchers, water systems, conveyors, and motors.

Perform routine preventative maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.

Document maintenance work, inspections, and repairs in logs or maintenance systems.

Monitor equipment performance and recommend upgrades or replacements when necessary.

Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Train and mentor maintenance staff on equipment handling, safety, and troubleshooting.

Collaborate with hatchery management and production to schedule maintenance with minimal disruption.

Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns or urgent maintenance requests.

Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of maintenance areas and tools.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.

Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, HVAC, plumbing, and welding systems.
Knowledge/Skills:

Basic MS Office skills.

Superior written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Proficient with hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and maintenance software.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Oversee maintenance team members, coordinate daily activities, and provide guidance and training.
Physical Demands:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and stand, bend, or move for extended periods.

May be exposed to dust, noise, chemicals, and live poultry.
Work Environment:

Hatchery environment with exposure to hot, cold, and humid conditions.

Must perform physical tasks in varying working conditions.
