Seattle Chocolate Company is hiring talent for the 2024 season of the Haunted Factory Experience! This is a fun, family friendly event that sells out every year. If you enjoy Halloween and the spooky season, we encourage you to apply!

Seattle Chocolate’s 2024 Haunted Factory Experience: Premise

The factory has been taken over by Dark Disciples who are using their dark powers to eradicate the evils of milk and vanilla and will not stop until only dark chocolate remains! To stop them, guests must pretend to join their ranks and stop their dark ritual. Only those who succeed will be rewarded [with chocolate].

Be brave and experience the chocolate factory while other worldly spirits try to wreak havoc. Look for clues, solve riddles, and see what lurks in the dark! The Haunted Factory Experience can best be described as a fun mix between live theater and an escape room.  Fun for the whole family!

Role: Chocolatier (Speaking Role)

In the spirit of Willy Wonka, The Chocolatier has worked over 30 years at making the finest chocolate. They are passionate, dedicated, and courageous against the Dark Disciples that are wreaking havoc on the factory.

Role: Treasure Keeper (Speaking Role)

The Treasure Keeper is guardian of the chocolate supply. They protect the chocolate against the Dark Disciples and reward those that are brave on their journey to save the future of chocolate.

Role: Dark Disciple (Non-speaking Role)

The Dark Disciples are the evil forces that are plotting to use their dark powers to vanquish milk chocolate forever. They hide behind a mask and use their spells to prevent The Chocolatiers’ future success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

(For Speaking Roles):

·        Surprise and delight guests and guide them to the next kiosk.

·        Memorize a short script.

·        Remain in character while guests are present and in the experience.

·        Be professional and respectful to all cast members, staff and guests.

(For Non-Speaking Roles):

·        Wear the provided costume including face mask.

·        Surprise and delight guests along their journey.

·        Be spooky but know when to pull back the energy accordingly.  

·        Remain professional throughout the experience.

Desired Qualifications:

·        Theatrical experience and improvisation.

·        Logical and creative thinking.

·        Problem-solving.

·        Clear communication.

·        Attention to detail.

·        Time management skills.

·        Energetic, outgoing and great people skills.

·        Be at least 18 years old.

Physical Demands:  Must be able to stand for at least 4 hours. Requires wearing a mask that covers eye, nose, and mouth area. May need to wear contact lenses in place of prescription glasses.

Highlights:

·        Snacks will be provided and of course, chocolate!

·        Up to 5 free tickets to our Friends and Family night.

·        Be a part of an amazing group of local talent.

·        Work for a woman owned and local business.

Compensation: $20-22/hr.

Oct. 15th Rehearsal (4pm-7pm) All cast members and crew must attend.

Oct. 16th Friends & Family (4:30pm-7:30pm)

Oct. 17th Opening Night (4:30pm – 8:30pm)

Oct. 18th – Oct. 20th

Oct. 24th – Oct. 27th

Thurs. & Sun. (4:30pm - 8:30pm)

Fri. & Sat. (4:30pm - 9:30pm)
