This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Head of Data Science & AI (Director) in the United States.

We are seeking a hands-on, strategic leader to drive the development and scaling of AI and ML systems that transform research prototypes into production-ready solutions. This role combines deep technical expertise with team leadership, empowering the creation of AI-powered products that deliver measurable business impact. The successful candidate will lead a small team of specialists, collaborate across engineering and product functions, and shape the organization’s AI strategy. This is an opportunity to work on cutting-edge predictive analytics, anomaly detection, multi-cloud cost optimization, and autonomous AI solutions at enterprise scale, all while fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

Accountabilities:

As Head of Data Science & AI, you will define and execute the AI/ML roadmap while mentoring a high-performing team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead by example with hands-on development, architecture, and problem-solving across AI/ML systems.
  • Prototype and translate novel ML/AI research ideas into production-ready, scalable systems.
  • Build AI-powered features for cost optimization, predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and related applications.
  • Establish technical standards, best practices, and development processes for AI/ML workflows.
  • Hire, mentor, and develop a team of AI/ML specialists, fostering collaboration, learning, and innovation.
  • Partner with engineering and product teams to embed AI capabilities across the platform.
  • Communicate complex AI concepts clearly to executives, stakeholders, and customers.
  • Represent AI capabilities in external forums, industry events, and customer engagements.

Requirements

Candidates should combine technical depth with leadership and strategic vision. Essential qualifications include:

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Science, ML Engineering, or related fields in high-growth SaaS environments.
  • Hands-on technical leadership, including mentoring, coaching, and hiring AI/ML talent.
  • Proficiency across the modern data science stack: data pipelines, modeling, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Proven experience with time series modeling, forecasting, and anomaly detection systems.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with cloud ML tools (e.g., SageMaker, Bedrock).
  • Experience integrating GenAI/LLM systems into production use cases.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical and executive audiences.
  • Pragmatic, impact-driven mindset with a focus on simplicity, customer value, and speed.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience developing enterprise-scale AI/ML solutions that directly influence business outcomes.
  • Familiarity with multi-cloud architectures and cost attribution optimization.
  • Background in real-time predictive analytics and autonomous optimization systems.

Benefits

  • Fully remote work with a flexible and inclusive work environment.
  • Competitive total compensation ($180,000–$250,000 estimated range).
  • Opportunities to lead innovative AI initiatives that shape enterprise products.
  • Professional development and mentorship for team members.
  • Collaborative culture that encourages creativity, experimentation, and technical excellence.
