Main duties of the job In this role, you'll lead clinical business oversight and reporting for the Group Medical Director and Chief Nurse, ensuring strategic priorities are delivered and high-quality care is supported across the organisation. You'll analyse complex performance and quality information, oversee cross-site programmes, and provide clear, informed advice to senior leaders. You'll also build strong relationships, manage sensitive issues with discretion, and ensure consistent governance, policy and reporting standards. We're seeking someone with strong strategic thinking, excellent communication and influencing skills, and confidence working autonomously. You'll need to interpret complex data, balance competing priorities and work constructively with clinical and corporate teams. Typical decisions you will make include: Deciding which emerging risks or performance concerns require urgent escalation and which can be managed within existing workstreams. Determining the most appropriate recommendations or actions when reviewing complex or sensitive information for senior leaders. Adjusting programme priorities, resources or timelines to maintain progress across multiple interdependent projects. The post holder is responsible for: Responding to requests from the Medical Director (MD), Chief Nurse (CN) and other Hospital leadership team (HLT) colleagues and meeting the complexity of a wide portfolio or responsibility which includes a number of high profile workstreams. Development and implementation of effective strategies, operational policies and processes in line with group priorities Ensuring strategic objectives and performance targets are met Maintaining and managing key external relationships, which will include professional bodies and collaborative/partner organisations. To support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUHs PRIDE values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence and demonstrate behaviours that support and encourage an inclusive culture. Person Specification Qualifications Specialist knowledge over more than one discipline/function acquired over a significant period, for example human resources, finance, information management (GDPR, Information Security, Caldicott) and Risk Management Experience Significant experience of developing strategy and leading to support major organisational change. Understanding and experience of the NHS Strategic Direction and political drivers Demonstrate ability to identify, plan and coordinate a set of related projects within a programme of business change and manage complex and multiple interdependencies in support of specific business strategies.
