The Institute of Analytics (IoA) is a not-for-profit global membership body for analytics and data science professionals. We set professional standards, promote greater data literacy and lead the way in upskilling and supporting our global members in getting ready for the modern world.


We are looking for a Head of Employer Engagement & Member Acquisitions to promote and sell membership through internal sales and corporate sales. You will be responsible for prospecting new employer/corporate partners and members, researching and building a database, building a pipeline of opportunities, making prospecting calls, conducting high level conversations with senior executives and account managing new and existing partners. Also responsible for creating job opportunities for IoA Members through employer/corporate partners.


This is a revenue-generating role so B2B2C sales and business development experience and a track record of developing successful partnerships are required. An address book of contacts is essential; previous experience in a professional body is desirable.


We are looking for somebody who is self-motivated with a commercial mindset to generate awareness and sell through direct phone sales, face-to-face and virtual sales calls, trade shows, networking groups, conferences, other meetings and events and to meet sales targets. You will have strong relationship management experience, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to present and negotiate effectively. Ideally you will be creative, flexible, collaborative, solution-focused and detail-oriented.


You will be part of a dynamic team with ambitious plans for growth in a busy, demanding but very rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact.


Responsibilities and Duties

  • Manage, execute and own the sales strategy to acquire new employer/corporate partners and members
  • Connect with companies/organisations to build and nurture leads through inbound lead follow-up and outbound cold calls, emails and client visits
  • Run and manage performance campaigns to acquire members through inside sales
  • Attend conferences, meetings and events to generate interest in the IoA and develop new leads
  • Conduct thorough research to identity new market opportunities, prospective employer/corporate partners and contacts; create and maintain a database
  • Develop and implement programmes and strategies, such as email campaigns and social media advertising, to increase the number of corporate partners
  • Understand the needs and goals of prospective and existing corporate partners; identify and develop benefits accordingly
  • Support onboarding and design account plans for new corporate partnerships
  • Build and nurturelong-term relationships with stakeholdersor key decision makers within companies/organisations
  • Plan and support activities for engagement to improve connection
  • Create job opportunities for IoA Members through employer/corporate partnerships
  • Forecast, measure and report the results of agreed KPIs and management information to the senior management team
  • Analyse partnership quality and adjust the strategy based on data-driven metrics
  • Input into and support an effective strategy to support renewals/retention
  • Monitor feedback, comments and suggestions to ensure continuous improvement
  • Develop a deep understanding and knowledge of the IoAs services, programmes and products and the market


Essential Skills

  • Self-motivated and driven to deliver a good performance; a positive can-do attitude
  • Strong communications skills (verbal and written) with the ability to effectively communicate value propositions to all stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills
  • Data-driven and results-focussed; able to prioritise in a fast-paced organisation and constantly identify the highest value partners and activities
  • Strong internal and external relationship building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels and a track record of success through managing customer relationships
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a motivated team
  • Proficiency working with google docs (desired) or Microsoft Office
  • A knowledge of working with systems e.g. Mailchimp would be an advantage
  • A willingness to embrace new technologies, systems and processes is essential
  • An interest in data analytics is desired, but not essential


Qualifications and Experience

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in B2B2C sales and business development is required
  • A proven sales, business development or commercial relationship management track record is essential
  • BA/BS in Business, Marketing, Communications or other relevant field
  • Previous experience working for a professional body is extremely desirable
