- Work with manufacturing to streamline the Supply Chain by taking complexity out of the fabrication process while using the best choices for raw materials.

- Streamline engineering workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and methodologies to ensure consistency and excellence across all projects.
- Oversee quality control measures to maintain high standards in product development, detailing and manufacturing.

- Work closely with other departments (e.g., Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, R&D) to ensure cohesive and integrated operations.
- Promote open communication and collaboration between engineering and other teams to align objectives and drive collective success.
- Oversee projects that require input and cooperation from multiple departments, ensuring they are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Practice safe working habits and follow safety procedures, policy, and Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
- Ability to work towards continuous improvement of product quality and ISO 9001:2015 system.
- Define key performance indicators (KPIs) for the engineering department to measure progress, efficiency, and success.
- Regularly assess team performance against established KPIs, providing feedback and adjusting as necessary.
- Hold team members accountable for their contributions, fostering a culture of responsibility and ownership.
- Keep abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, mega-trends, and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.
- Assess the potential impact of new and emerging technologies on the business and integrate them into the engineering processes where beneficial.
- Compare the company's engineering practices and performance against industry standards and competitors to identify areas for improvement.
- Oversee the engineering department's budget, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to support strategic initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality or performance.
- Plan and manage resources to meet project deadlines and objectives efficiently.
Risk Management and Compliance
- Proactively identify potential risks related to engineering projects, including technical, operational, and compliance risks.
- Implement strategies to mitigate identified risks, ensuring safety as a priority and project continuity.
- Ensure all engineering activities are in compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and company policies
- 10+ years of progressive experience in steel manufacturing or related industry.
- Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, or related field.
- Professional Engineering licensure preferred but not required.
- Proven track record in team building and leadership.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to interpret financial data and drive improvements based on insights.
- Strong analytical skills to make informed decisions and strategic recommendations.
- Proficiency in planning tools and computer systems.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- If remote, must have the ability and be willing to travel at minimum one week per month to visit the various offices with Engineering personnel, attend company events, and/or industry meetings/events.
