Nature of Work

Kanawha County

Current or previous WV Emergency Medical Technician or Paramedic certification. Knowledgeable regarding the Emergency Medical Service System and all EMS equipment, supplies, and medication. Knowledge off specific equipment required for ground and air ambulances at the Rapid Response, Basic Life Support, and Critical Care level. Knowledge of EMS Class 1-5 controlled substances required on ground and air ambulances in accordance with Drug Enforcement Agency policy and WVOEMS policy. Knowledgeable of all current policies, legislative rules, codes, updates, processes and implementation of policies in the area of assignment. Provide direct oversight to the Licensure/lnspection Unit. Supervise and
monitor Licensure/lnspection Unit employees. Plans, supervises, assigns, coordinates, and reviews the work of the Licensure Division. Analyzes and provides reports to the WVOEMS Director on various aspects of the Licensure Unite. Directs and coordinates agency inspections, vehicle permit inspection and spot check of ambulances to ensure compliance with WV State Code and Administrative Rule. Responsible for the management, recruitment and selection process, staff development and disciplinary matters of the unit. Develops and updates guidelines for EMS agency operations, ensuring compliance with state regulations. Functions as a system administrator for the Image Trend system by maintaining the comprehensive database of licensed EMS agencies, permitted ambulances, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and confidentiality of information.

Minimum Qualifications

Training: Master's degree from an accredited college or university in the area of assignment.

Substitution: One year of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience as described below may substitute for the Master's degree.

Experience: Three years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in the area of assignment, one year of which must have been in a program administration capacity.
Substitution: Post-graduate training in the area of assignment may substitute through an established formula for the non-supervisory experience.
