The role of Site Health and Safety Coordinator implements the activities planned by the health and safety department for the project. Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, his or her objective is to support field staff on the site and to monitor provincial laws and regulations as well as the company's prevention program. It has the power to stop any activity deemed dangerous to the health and safety of persons on the project. This role is based on construction site on a full-time basis. We operate multiple construction sites across the province of Québec. This role therefore requires a high level of geographic mobility, as well as availability to work on a rotational schedule, based on project needs. To facilitate mobility, employees residing more than 120 km from the work site will be mobilized on site and may be eligible for certain benefits, in accordance with the company’s policies. Do you have what it takes? Positive energy and... • Have at least 5 years of relevant experience as a health and safety coordinator; • Hold a Health and Safety Coordinator (HSCO) diploma; • Excellent knowledge of federal, provincial and municipal health and safety laws and regulations; • Have a good command of computers (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.); • High geographical mobility; • Hold a valid driver's license; • Ability to work in a team and communicate both verbally and in writing; • Autonomy and leadership; • Excellent team management skills and conflict resolution methods; • High administrative rigour; • Fluency in oral and written French; • Be able to adapt to a highly stressful environment and weather fluctuations (construction site). What you will do to complete this mission successfully: • Ensure compliance in the application of occupational health and safety laws and regulations; • Prevention Program of the Work Provider, Project Manager; Borea and subcontractors; • Conduct regular inspections to identify non-compliance or risk situations; • Informing the Superintendent of risks and hazards; • Require that appropriate preventive measures be put in place; • Ensure timely implementation; • Provide updates on changes to the Superintendent; • Ensure that M&S management meetings are of high quality: • Reception/orientation, site committee, safety breaks and special meetings, if necessary; • Investigate accidents, incidents or near-misses that could have resulted in significant consequences; • Complete the required reports.
