The Barton Center for Diabetes Education is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering children living with Type 1 diabetes through transformative camp experiences. Through programs such as Clara Barton Camp for girls and Camp Joslin for boys, the organization provides a safe and supportive environment where children learn critical diabetes management skills, gain confidence, and build lifelong friendships. Barton also offers year-round initiatives to help children and families thrive despite the challenges of diabetes. Guided by strong leadership and community partnerships, the organization creates opportunities for growth, inclusion, and education. The Barton Center remains committed to its mission of fostering hope and resilience for children with diabetes. Role Description This is a temporary, on-site role for the Health Care Team at The Barton Center for Diabetes Education, located in North Oxford, MA or Charlton, MA. The team member will be responsible for overseeing the healthcare needs of campers, performing medical assessments, providing treatment, managing medication, and ensuring safety at all times. Additional responsibilities include supporting the education of campers on diabetes management, and maintaining accurate medical records. Qualifications Demonstrated skills and certifications in EMT and/or nursing, with experience in emergency healthcare environments or applicable settings preferred. Strong Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support and educate children effectively. Experience or training in Healthcare and medical procedures, particularly relating to diabetes management preferred. CPR certification and knowledge of first aid are required. Prior experience working with children or in a camp setting is an advantage. Ability to work collaboratively within a team in a high-energy atmosphere. #J-18808-Ljbffr
