Job Requirements

  • BSW required - MSW or LCSW preferred
  • A minimum of 2-years relevant work experience with the aging population, caregivers and health professionals, in the field of dementia and Alzheimer's care
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Clear background check
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong organizational skills;
  • Group work skills and the ability to establish rapport with those served;
  • Comfortable with public speaking;
  • Motivated, self-starter and self-directed;
  • Current drivers license and reliable transportation, with access to an automobile and required insurance coverage;
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office and email correspondence.
    Expectation to learn new software applications that may be introduced to improve efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Guide and support family caregivers through the challenges of dementia related conditions
  • Effectively represent the Dubin Center to outside agencies and act as a liaison between the public and local agencies working in dementia care
  • Collaborate with team members, perform essential documentation, and ensure coordination of the communication with clients
  • Facilitate support group meetings at partner sites within southwest Florida.
  • Provide supportive feedback, educational information, and resource referrals to individuals and families as they are faced with Alzheimers and Dementia related issues via phone calls, emails, face to face meetings and via support group activities, to address their identified needs.
  • Assess and address safety and risk concerns and develop safety and intervention plans accordingly.
  • Maintain such records as necessary for documenting client contacts and other related activities to support the Centers mission.

About Us: The Dubin Center was established in 1995 to provide assistance to families of individuals suffering from Alzheimers disease.
Our center is named after Alvin A.
Dubin whose widow, Zelda Dubin, made a generous donation to ensure the viability of a resource center in Lee
County.
The staff and volunteers at The Dubin Center provide local expertise with resource referrals, education and support groups.
