What are we looking for in a Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist? The Health Information Management (HIM) Specialist ensures accuracy and completeness of health records, in addition to enforcing necessary safeguards to maintain health records that are secure and compliant.HIM Specialist duties may include:Ensures that recordkeeping procedures and storage of all health records are done in a manner consistent with policies and procedures, in addition to state and federal laws and regulations.Maintains working knowledge of current federal laws regarding HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.Coordinates communication and information with other departments.
