Job Description and Duties
The Health Information Management Department (HIMD) has a permanent, full-time vacancy for a Health Record Technician I position. This position, under general supervision from the Health Record Technician II Supervisor, is responsible for processing daily census, real- time movements, processing new admissions, assisting Court evaluators, processing discharged records, collecting all required discharge summaries and documents while ensuring all signatures are present; communicating with physicians, social workers, and other hospital staff and outside agencies regarding discharges, transfers, and/or deaths; assigning appropriate diagnosis codes; and updating several different databases such as Discharge Tracking Database, Admissions/Discharges/Transfers Database, and Electronic Death Registry.
Applications will be accepted until position is filled. Multiple cut-off dates are set for application submission: March 31, 2024, April 21, 2024, May 12, 2024 and June 2, 2024. Applications received after a cut-off date will be processed for the next cut-off date listed.
