Cedars is looking for a Health Services Manager for our. In this position you will bring your professionalism, compassion and sensitivity as you supervise a staff of 3 to meet the medical needs of Cedars residents.

This position is full-time (Monday - Friday). The rate of pay is $33 - $36 per hour, depending on experience. Additionally, a bonus of up to $1,000 will be distributed over the course of the first year of employment.

Primary Job Functions

  • Display caring, professionalism, excellent communication skills and sensitivity as you work closely with other staff to support the health, and address the medical needs of residents.
  • Have experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities and understand the special health care conditions of adults with developmental disabilities, such as dementia.
  • Oversee medical and medication administration records and systems.
  • Accompany residents to appointments.
  • Serve as a liaison for residents, staff, families, regulatory agencies and health care providers.
  • Demonstrate strength in leadership, management, and organization.
  • Assess, develop and maintain departmental systems that ensure smooth and accurate operations.
  • Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities, including emergencies, and to calmly problem-solve.
  • Be proficient in MS Office and databases.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills with individuals who interact in various ways, both verbally and non-verbally.
  • Have experience in hiring, managing, and evaluating staff.
  • Willingness to be on-call for emergencies.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities is preferred.
  • A desire to help others achieve their full potential.
  • Medical background, skills and a working knowledge of healthcare terminology.
  • Proficient in the use of email and the ability to use a database.
  • Must communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal.
  • A clean California driver's license, a minimum of three years of driving, and a willingness to drive a passenger van.
  • The ability to pass a pre-hire screening including background check with the FBI and DOJ, and a pre-employment physical, including TB test.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications (or the willingness to acquire both).
  • An upbeat, positive attitude and good sense of humor are very helpful!
