Heavy Equipment Operator Location: Carthage, TX. The role is based on the site in Carthage, TX. Our Team Optimized Process Designs, LLC (OPD) is an engineering/construction company headquartered in Katy, TX, specializing in natural gas, natural gas liquids, and petrochemical industries. OPD is part of the larger Koch Engineered Solutions organization, offering engineering, procurement, and construction services. Responsibilities Adhere to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures. Efficiently and safely operate heavy mobile equipment of various sizes and weights associated with open pit mining. Perform minor service and maintenance on equipment. Recognize and document potential job hazards in compliance with company policies. Work as a team to help meet or exceed production, waste, and quality goals. Maintain a safe and clean work environment through housekeeping duties. Operate in hot, humid, cold, and noisy industrial environments. Work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed. Perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and pulling for at least eight (8) hours. Maintain strict adherence to safety rules and regulations, including the use of safety equipment. Field Employee Expectations Actively participate in a strong safety culture. Recognize safety hazards and risks. Participate in onsite safety meetings. Follow OPD and client safety policies and procedures. Be aware of changing conditions on an active jobsite. Be on time to the jobsite each day ready for work. Display a positive attitude and be able to work in a team environment. Physical Demands Work in outdoor weather and extreme conditions including heat, humidity, cold, and high elevations. Lifting and carrying awkward objects up to 60 lbs. Standing for extended periods up to 11 hours per day with breaks every 2.5 hours. Use full body, arms, legs for climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, crawling, twisting, reaching, bending. Good hand‑eye coordination. Use hands to handle, control, and feel objects and/or tools. Basic Qualifications At least six (6) months of experience operating construction or mining equipment: end dump truck, Caterpillar 770+, excavator Caterpillar 325+, front‑end loader Caterpillar 950+, dozer Caterpillar D8+, Wirtgen Surface Miner 2200SM. Willingness to work in an industrial environment as described. Ability to meet physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation. Ability to adhere to safety regulations. Willing to work all shifts up to 12 hours per day, 7 days a week as required by the project. Preferred Qualifications One (1) year or more of experience with construction or mining equipment.
