Equipment Operator Must Have Experience Operating: Excavator Backhoe Responsibilities: Operate heavy equipment, including excavators, bulldozers, and the like to complete a myriad of job tasks. Take actions to avoid potential hazards or obstructions, such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, or falling objects. Come to job site with appropriate clothing, work boots, and with your PPE given to you the date you were hired. Be cognizant of underground services, such as pipes or wires prior to beginning work, and be cautious of their locations throughout the work day. Read job plans to ensure a thorough knowledge of the job at hand. Complete a “Daily Equipment Checklist” form before beginning work. Checking all equipment fluids prior to starting the work day. Check fuel supplies of all equipment at job site on a daily basis - prior to beginning work, and before completing work, to ensure that equipment is ready to operate at any time. Learn and follow safety regulations. Participate in safety training as required. Work well with a crew of several other operators, a crew foreman, and a job superintendent. Experience: Prior heavy equipment operation is necessary. Must have a valid driver's license. Must be able to travel for work throughout the Southeast. Any safety certifications / accreditations a plus. Benefits / Miscellaneous: Compensation is dependent upon experience, certifications, and qualifications. This is a full time position which allows for overtime opportunities. Benefits start after 90 days from the hire date.
