Duration: 5+ Months (With potential extension)

Shift: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (M – F)


Job Description

  • High school education or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective written and oral communications, listening skills, ability to organize and retrieve information, and display adaptability.
  • Ability to work in a team and network with different functions.
  • Preferred or Desired Qualifications

    • Previous experience in Mining and Heavy Equipment Operations.
    • Drilling and Blasting experience helpful.
    • Good reasoning/mechanical aptitude.
    • Familiarity with safety programs in a Mining environment. Must be self-motivated, and able to make independent, informed, and prioritized decisions.
    • Must be able to work in both individual and team industrial work settings with minimal supervision.
    • Maintaining strict confidentiality in all matters is paramount to this position due to the nature of employee information exposure.


    Physical/Mental Requirements

    • Ability to work an average of 40 hours per week.
    • Speak clearly so others understand.
    • Vision acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer.
    • Accepting of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations.
    • Sensitivity to others’ needs, positive demeanor, and model change management for the business.
    • The employee frequently is required to walk.
    • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.


    Environmental Conditions

    • Manufacturing plant is not temperature controlled; dust, fumes, and high noise areas are present inside plant areas.
    • Plant environment is not climate controlled.
    • Manufacturing processes involve granules, sand, fiberglass, asphalt coating, crushed rock, and polypropylene.
    • Noise levels exceed 80 dB in some areas of the site.
    • Experience within construction is preferred.


    Responsibilities

    • In complete alignment with the Company’s Vision, Mission Statement, and Values, and under the direction of the Mine Manager, this position supports the Western Mining Team Miner/Equipment Operator. This position will support many areas of the mines’ everyday needs.
    • This position will include manual labor and heavy equipment operation such as Haul Truck, Front End Loader, and Excavator.
    • Follows all company and MSHA safety policies, procedures, and programs; responsible for individual safety and the safety of others in Heavy Equipment Operations.
    • Haul Truck, Front End Loader, and Excavator operation. Drill and blast.
    • General manual labor tasks related to mining activities.
    • Provide support related to Fuel and Lubrication activities.
    • Maintains work area in a professional manner.
    • Provide assistance to other team members as needed.
    • Performs other related duties that contribute to the success of the business and operation as assigned.
