Matrix Project Services Rougemont, NC 27572, USA Description Job Summary: Responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment including but not limited to front-end loaders, skid-steers, trackhoes, backhoes, excavators, dozers, motor graders and trenchers. Job Functions: Actively supports the Company’s commitment to safety and its “Core Values.” Represents the Company at all times with high moral standards while adhering to the Company’s “Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.” Performs loading and unloading of equipment and supplies. Precision positioning of equipment, lifting heavy machinery and components, as well as beams and lumber. Work in a closed or open cab to use pilot operated joystick controls, pedals, levers and buttons to lift, move, and position loads using hoisting attachments, such as hooks, slings, electromagnets, and buckets. Observe load hookup and determine safety of load and inspect and report hoisting mechanism. Communicate with team members both verbally and by signal instruction. Work around existing underground utilities and tight areas. Shoring, soil classes and dewatering. Remove loosened material and put in piles or transport trucks. Identify safety hazards you or other employees may be subject to and take all necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards. Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of three (3) years experience operating heavy equipment in a industrial construction environment. Able to communicate with team members both verbally and by signal instruction. Operate equipment to dig trenches and holes of specified length, depth, and width and grade. Must be able to pass equipment test and visual observation of operating equipment. Complete the Matrix Service Safety training, and/or Client/Site specific training. Must Pass a background check. Must obtain and maintain an active status within the applicable drug testing program. PHYSICAL/SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work from elevated or uneven surfaces. Work involves standing and walking for extended periods of time. Ability to work in Confined Spaces. Must be capable of working outside in the elements including but not limited to the heat, cold, rain, snow and wind; and must be able to work for long period of times up to 12 hours a day. Work may include frequent bending, kneeling, crouching and stooping and occasional climbing onto equipment and/or trailers. May be required to lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs. Requires visual ability sufficient to perform job duties. Work normally requires eye-hand coordination. Travel and overtime may be required.
