Summary:
The HEDIS Abstractor is responsible for reviewing and extracting data from medical records to ensure compliance with HEDIS measures, validate data accuracy, and support quality improvement initiatives. This role requires expertise in medical terminology, data abstraction, and adherence to HIPAA and confidentiality standards.

Position Info:

  • Title: HEDIS Coordinator
  • Client: AmeriHealth Caritas
  • Duration: 3 Months
  • Location: 3875 West Chester Pike Newtown Square PA 19073
  • Work Mode: Remote

Responsibilities:

  • Abstract and review medical records for compliance with HEDIS measures and specifications.
  • Validate and ensure the accuracy and quality of abstracted data.
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to retrieve necessary medical records.
  • Conduct quality checks to resolve errors or inconsistencies in data abstraction.
  • Document findings in HEDIS databases and maintain accurate reporting.
  • Stay current on HEDIS measure updates and healthcare regulations to improve abstraction processes.
  • Meet daily medical record review goals and maintain productivity standards.
  • Correct errors identified through over-read processes and review related charts for consistency.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1-3 years of experience with medical record collection and medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of HEDIS, medical terminology, and basic charting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a production environment with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong prioritization skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance and confidentiality requirements.
