Job Duties:
***RFI Response*** This position operates strictly under the guidance and direction of a supervisor who will be responsible for directing crews on how to mix and spray herbicides on a daily basis. Supervisors identify incompatible trees and vegetation for the incumbent to spray and/or remove and determine the types of chemicals and proportions the incumbent must mix and apply - as directed. The vast majority of the time, the incumbent will spend on foot with a 50 lb backpack spraying upwards of 50 acres of vegetation daily as identified by a supervisor. The incumbent may also gather brush and sticks by hand to pile for removal. To clarify, this position requires little to no involvement in the decision-making process of herbicide application. Please refer to the Departments longstanding application of TEGL 27-06 on itinerant utility right-of-way (ROW) applications under SOC code 37-3011 as the most appropriate occupation to assign this job opportunity. ***Original F.a.2*** The job's duties consist of mixing and spraying herbicides, using backpacks spraying identified incompatible trees and vegetation in right-of-way area, walking extended periods of time. May use machete to hack and quirt base of trees. May pile brush and sticks.

Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures, working outdoors and being on feet all day long, stooping and bending, lifting 50 pounds, carrying up to 40 pounds in backpack all day. Must be able to pass a post-employment, employer paid drug test if warranted. Work days: M-F and possibly Saturday, depending on weather. Hours per week: 40 hours per week Work Schedule: 7:00am - 4:00pm, varies Special Procedures: Itinerary starts in Fayette county. Work will be performed at various locations (see list of all counties included in itinerary for reference). Wages and Pay Frequency: Basic Hourly Wage: $12.75 - $17.46/hr, depending on location Overtime Hourly Wage: $19.13- $26.19/hr depending on location Pay Frequency: Biweekly Additional information about wage: Employer may offer a raise or bonus depending on experience and merit. Pay Assurance: Employer will pay the highest of all prevailing wages for each worksite location throughout the entire period of employment. Daily Transportation provided to all worksite locations from primary worksite? Yes Does employer offer a ride to primary worksite location to workers living within a reasonable commute: Yes Overtime available? Yes On-the-Job Training provided?
