Overview Baker Tilly is a leading advisory, tax and assurance firm with a global presence and a strong focus on high-net-worth individuals and private business owners. The High Net Worth Tax Principal role entails leading compliance and consulting services, managing client engagement, and mentoring a talented staff team. Key Responsibilities Lead compliance and consulting services for high-net-worth individuals, multi-generational affluent families, family offices, and their private businesses and/or investment entities. Perform technical reviews of complex individual, partnership, S‑corp, trust, estate, gift, and state tax returns. Lead multiple engagements delivering proactive tax planning and strategic consulting, including federal, estate, gift, charitable planning, and generation‑skipping tax. Advise clients on business succession planning. Apply current trends, developments and technical authorities to complex situations. Manage client engagement staffing, billings and collections, ensuring client profitability targets are met. Network and build strong internal and external relationships to acquire new clients and projects. Invest in personal professional development and participate in firm‑wide learning and development programs. Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy. Qualifications Undergraduate degree in accounting or law (required). CPA or JD (required). Ten (10)+ years of experience in tax planning and consulting for wealthy individuals, family members, trusts, investment entities, and private businesses. Strong experience in personal taxation, trust taxation, estate & gift taxation, charitable taxation, flow‑through entities, partnership taxation and corporate taxation. Six (6)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates. Ability to lead and supervise teams, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, see the big picture, exhibit ethical knowledge, and maintain urgency and quality in project completion.
