Job Description:
Pay: $30/hr
We are seeking a committed and knowledgeable High School Living Environment (Biology) and Earth Science Tutor to join our team to provide in-person tutoring services to a Queens school starting ASAP. The ideal candidate will work closely with high school students to reinforce their understanding of biology and earth science concepts and help them prepare for the Living Environment Regents and Earth Science Regents exams.
Compensation and Schedule:
- Start ASAP
- Schedule of 3 five-hour days each week
- Pay rate of $30/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized and small-group tutoring sessions in Living Environment (Biology) and Earth Science to students in grades 9-12.
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that cater to the diverse needs of students, especially English Language Learners.
- Monitor and assess student progress, offering regular feedback to teachers and parents.
- Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and resources to foster student learning and engagement.
- Collaborate with school staff to establish a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training sessions.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree (or currently pursuing a degree) in Education, Earth Science, Biology, or a related field.
- Previous experience in tutoring or teaching high school biology or Living Environment.
- Familiarity with the New York State Living Environment and Earth Science Regents exams.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with high school students and adapt to their individual learning needs.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive educational environment.
