Job Title: QC Analytical Chemist
Location: Winchester, KY
Contract: 12 months
Shift: Monday-Friday, 3 PM - 11:30 PM
Duration: 6 months (Temp-to-Hire)

Position Overview

The QC Analytical Chemist role is an entry-level position ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in chemistry or life sciences. The primary responsibility involves performing essential analytical testing to ensure the quality of raw materials, in-process products, finished goods, stability samples, and cleaning validations. This hands-on laboratory position requires excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality analytical testing following guidelines such as USP/NF/EP/JP/FCC or customer-specified protocols.
    • Techniques include but are not limited to Dissolution, Titration, Polarimetry, Loss on Drying, Viscosity, Residue on Ignition, Heavy Metal Content, FTIR, HPLC, and GC.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed written records of all analyses performed.
  • Interpret analytical results accurately and communicate findings and issues effectively.
  • Schedule and prioritize daily tasks to ensure organized and efficient workflows.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment and instruments.
  • Adhere to safe laboratory practices and chemical hygiene standards.
  • Gain proficiency in standard operating procedures (SOPs) and test methods.
  • Collaborate in a team environment and contribute to maintaining a clean and safe workplace.
  • Perform peer reviews of analytical testing and associated documentation.
  • Draft or revise SOPs as necessary.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or Life Sciences (preferred focus on Chemistry or Biology).

Experience:

  • 0-5 years in a quality, laboratory, clinical, or chemical manufacturing role (internship or co-op experience included).
