Position Overview
Our hotel is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Banquet Manager to oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all banquet and special event operations. This role is responsible for delivering seamless, elevated event experiences that reflect the property’s luxury standards and Napa Valley hospitality ethos.
The Banquet Manager serves as the operational lead for events, working closely with sales, culinary, and hotel leadership to ensure flawless execution, exceptional service, and memorable guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Event Operations & Execution

Oversee all banquet and event operations from setup through breakdown

Execute weddings, corporate events, social gatherings, and special functions to luxury service standards

Ensure all event spaces are properly staged, staffed, and presented according to event specifications

Act as the primary on-site point of contact during events to manage flow, timing, and guest experience
Team Leadership & Staffing

Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise banquet captains, servers, bartenders, and support staff

Lead pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs
-
Maintain a strong floor presence during events to ensure service quality and responsiveness

Coach and develop team members to uphold service excellence
Collaboration & Planning

Partner closely with Sales & Events, Culinary, Bar, and Hotel Operations teams to ensure alignment on:

Event timelines

Menu execution

Staffing plans

Client expectations

Review banquet event orders (BEOs) for accuracy and completeness

Communicate event details clearly to all departments
Service Standards & Guest Experience

Ensure consistent delivery of polished, attentive, and anticipatory service

Address guest and client requests or concerns promptly and professionally

Maintain cleanliness, organization, and presentation across all event spaces
Financial & Operational Oversight

Manage labor scheduling and costs to align with budget and event volume

Monitor banquet inventory, equipment, and supply needs

Support revenue optimization and cost control initiatives
Compliance & Safety

Ensure compliance with food safety, alcohol service, and workplace safety standards

Enforce company policies and service protocols
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in banquet or event operations within a luxury hotel, resort, or upscale venue
-
Prior supervisory or management experience required

Strong understanding of banquet service styles, event logistics, and guest flow

Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously with precision and professionalism

Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

Flexible schedule required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Experience

Experience with weddings, destination events, and high-end corporate functions

Background in Napa Valley, wine country, or luxury destination hospitality
