Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and hands-on General Manager to lead daily operations at our Spark by Hilton property in Merrillville, Indiana. This role is responsible for driving financial performance, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and building a high-performing team while ensuring full compliance with Hilton brand standards.
The ideal candidate is an energetic leader who thrives in a fast-paced, lean operating environment and is comfortable taking a hands-on approach across all hotel functions.
Key Responsibilities
Hotel Operations
- Oversee all day-to-day hotel operations, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and sales
- Ensure compliance with Spark by Hilton and Hilton brand standards
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-functioning property
Financial Management
- Manage hotel budget, forecasting, and profit & loss performance
- Drive revenue growth through occupancy, rate strategies, and cost control
- Monitor financial reports and implement corrective actions as needed
Leadership & Team Development
- Recruit, train, and develop team members across all departments
- Foster a positive, accountable, and service-oriented culture
- Conduct performance evaluations and support career development
Guest Experience
- Ensure exceptional guest service and satisfaction
- Address and resolve escalated guest concerns professionally
- Monitor online reviews and implement continuous improvements
Sales & Marketing
- Support local sales initiatives and community engagement efforts
- Collaborate with revenue management to optimize pricing and occupancy
- Promote brand awareness and drive bookings
Property Maintenance
- Oversee preventative maintenance programs
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Protect and enhance the value of the hotel asset
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of hotel management experience (GM or Assistant GM preferred)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Proven ability to manage budgets and financial performance
- Hands-on, adaptable approach with a willingness to support all departments
- Experience with Hilton-branded properties preferred
Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $55,000 with $15,000 bonus
