Full job description

The Housing Intake Specialist is designed to complete homeless client intakes and outreach activities. As part of this job, the intake specialist will perform the intake paperwork with housing clients to refer them to the Coordinated Entry list and, as needed, provide outreach services. This is a full-time position and the starting wage is $17.54 per hour.

Primary duties include:

  • Enter client data into the Clarity HMIS secure database
  • Complete homeless client intakes
  • Maintain client records safely and securely
  • Provide street outreach activities & clerical work
  • Perform required follow-ups with existing caseload once a month
  • Act as a liaison between homeless clients and other WDEOC housing staff, referring to other agencies for services needed
  • Aid in the creation and maintaining of housing resource packets for clients
  • Develop a working knowledge of the varied housing programs offered in the community

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalency; 2 years of experience working in the human services or related field required, specifically working with people experiencing homelessness or vulnerable adults preferred. Course completion in Social Work or Human Services related degree preferred. We offer a complete benefits package, including:

Vacation, personal leave, holidays, sick leave

  • 3 weeks of vacation annually
  • 25 hours of personal time off annually
  • 10 paid holidays annually
  • Sick leave accrued at 3.3230 hours per pay period
  • approximately 7 hours sick leave per month for full time employees
  • maximum accrued sick leave of 432 hours
  • Short-Term Disability
  • Long-Term Disability agency paid

401(k) plan with up to a 6% match

Employees can contribute immediately. After 1 year of employment, the agency will contribute between 3 and 6 percent, dependent on the employee's contribution.

Health Insurance

  • 90% premiums covered for individual coverage
  • 75% premiums covered for additional coverage needed
  • $3,750 deductible reimbursement for individuals and up to $6,500 reimbursed for family deductibles
  • Health Savings Account
  • Flexible Spending Accounts for both Health and Dependent Care

Dental Insurance

  • Single $36.67per month
  • Family $108.20 per month
