Position Overview:
The HR Director will oversee all HR operations, including recruiting, onboarding, compliance, employee relations, benefits administration, performance management, and long-term workforce planning. This role requires a strategic thinker who isn’t afraid to get hands-on, move fast, and implement processes that support our growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the HR department and support a growing team of 100+ employees across multiple locations
- Build, update, and maintain HR policies, employee handbook, and internal procedures
- Oversee full-cycle recruiting and retention strategies for both field and office roles
- Manage benefits programs (health, dental, vision, retirement, PTO, etc.)
- Handle employee relations, investigations, corrective actions, and conflict resolution
- Oversee onboarding, offboarding, and workforce documentation
- Ensure federal, state, and local HR compliance across multiple states
- Support leadership in organizational planning, succession management, and culture development
- Partner with accounting and operations on payroll accuracy and workforce reporting
- Lead HRIS administration and help streamline internal systems
- Drive training programs, safety initiatives, certifications, and leadership development
What We’re Looking For:
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role
- Experience supporting a 100+ employee workforce (multi-state strongly preferred)
- Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR compliance, and best practices
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred but not required
- Experience in construction, service industry, engineering, skilled trades, or multi-site operations is a plus
