Job Summary:
The HR Generalist is responsible for performing specialized HR duties with varying complexity to assist the owner and assigned clients. This position will be hybrid remote with schedule flexibility.Duties/Responsibilities:
- Develops, audits, revises, and implements HR policies and procedures for assigned clients or projects.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with clients to understand characteristics and competencies required for openings.
- Manages and resolves employee relations issues with varying complexities. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations when required.
- Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation to clients.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
- Assists with new hire orientation for assigned clients.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and clients, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the owner.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Works closely with management and clients to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Conducts periodic audits of human resource activities to ensure compliance with laws, policies, and procedures.
- Participates in professional development sessions or seminars.
- Participates in career fairs, networking and special events, as needed.
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s ATS, CRM, and other software systems.
Education and Experience:
- PHR or SHRM-CP (or higher) required.
- At least two years of human resource management experience required.
- Experience providing HR support for professional sports teams a plus.
- Experience with HRIS and ATS software preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field preferred.
