Role Description

We have an opening for a full-time on-site role for a Human Resources Assistant at VantagePoint Benefit Administrators in Lynbrook, NY. The Human Resources Assistant will be responsible for a range of administrative tasks such as recruiting, onboarding, compliance, payroll, benefits enrollment, and data entry. The HR Assistant will also support the HR team in training and development initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Human Resources (HR) and HR Management
  • Experience using Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS)
  • Knowledge of Federal, State and Local laws
  • Proven support in sales based or business to business client-facing experience
  • Experience in Benefits Administration
  • Experience in Payroll Processing
  • Excellent organizational and data entry skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, written and verbal
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) is a plus

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Candidate will exercise outstanding judgment in the execution of tasks that are delegated, know when to escalate an issue to management and when to handle it on their own.
  • Assist with keeping clients abreast of current and latest employment legislation and regulations on the Federal, State and local level;
  • Assist with working with our clients in managing supervisors, employees and the relationship between the two
  • Update and manage file and notice requirements
  • Assist with new employee onboarding and orientation
  • Provide assistance on training HR best practices to Supervisors and c-suite
  • Talent Acquisition: assist with new employee onboarding and interview process
  • Benefit Administration: Provide assistance with open enrollment periods (creation of material) and benefit related questions when needed
  • Employee Relations: Providing day-to-day support and problem resolution to employee questions and policy issues
  • Performance Management: Coach, counsel and monitor disciplinary action.
  • Compliance: maintain in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, minimizing legal risk and maximizing regulatory compliance
  • Payroll Assistance: Knowledgeable on various wage and hour, time and attendance rules to support the client
  • Use of VantagePoint technology platform including HRIS and payroll to manage client employees.
  • Assist account managers, creating material for implementation meetings, annual reviews and employee education meetings.
  • Manage and track client engagement through our CRM
  • Fulfill day-to-day service requests for clients, including insurance eligibility, billing, claims, and compliance issues. Tracking of issues until closure.
  • Acknowledges and responds to any client requests in a timely manner.
  • Performs other tasks on projects as needed/assigned.
