Job Overview Under the supervision of the Human Resource Manager, the Human Resource Generalist will build relationships within the HR department and throughout the operations departments to provide effective communication, administrative and strategic support, as well as guidance through an organized approach to rapidly changing priorities. Key Responsibilities Recruiting: Recruit candidates for open hourly positions through multiple sources, improve sourcing through research options within the geographical area, and coordinate the hourly employment process. Screen applications and resumes to assess qualifications, phone screen applicants who meet minimum qualifications, coordinate and participate in the interview process, perform pre‑employment screening, and follow compensation guidelines. Generate written offers for hourly employees and correspond with candidates and applicants. Safety: Administer all safety programs and safety committee meetings; review and communicate safety programs; monitor, schedule, and perform safety training to maintain OSHA compliance; coordinate hazard surveys; maintain SDS books; assist with incident reports and accident investigations; maintain first aid kits; create safety incident reporting folders and enforce incident reporting regulations. Affirmative Action: Complete tracking of EEO information and enter administrative data for applicants by EEO classification. On‑Boarding: Conduct new hire orientations; ensure all new hires have supplies and resources; complete all new hire processing and paperwork; complete E‑Verify process for each employee hired. Employee Relations: Assist the Regional Human Resource Manager and management team with providing a positive employee relations experience; conduct onboarding follow‑up reviews; formulate expedient solutions to employee concerns; visit employees in agriculture, mill, and food processing environments. Payroll: Support the payroll department with required communications to ensure all payroll information is submitted accurately each pay period. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
