Job Description Mission: The USSF is a military service that organizes, trains, and equips space force to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. USSF responsibilities include developing Guardians, acquiring military space systems, maturing the military doctrine for space power, and organizing space forces to present to our Combatant Commands. Purpose of Position To serve as a Human Resources Specialist at a USSF Field Command, providing expert management advisory service in a wide range of Human Resources Management (HRM) areas such as Assignments, Promotions, Readiness, and Senior Leader Management. Responsibilities Applies a comprehensive knowledge of federal human resource regulations, executive orders, and analytical principles to effectively manage the full life-cycle of talent management and succession planning for the command. Collaboratively and independently directs assigned recruitment and outreach initiatives for STARCOM HQ and its associated Deltas, skillfully leveraging in-depth knowledge of organizational structures to collaborate with hiring officials to advertise a wide variety of critical positions, and send minimally qualified individuals to the hiring manager. Find innovative solutions to advertise positions and efficiently qualify candidates against OPM standards, thereby enhancing the command's strategic talent acquisition capabilities. Demonstrates exceptional communication skills by delivering clear, data-driven briefings on recruitment and outreach progress to senior military leadership, while fostering a collaborative team environment that elevates morale and operational success. Act as the face of STARCOM, building and maintaining Department of War and community partnerships. Prepare and deliver presentations on USSF open positions and internships to community members with and without military affiliation. Key Attributes Expert in Federal HR & Talent Strategy: Mastery of federal HR laws, advanced analytical principles, and OPM standards to manage the full lifecycle of talent management and succession planning. Innovative & Autonomous Recruiter: Independently directs all recruitment and outreach initiatives for STARCOM, leveraging innovative solutions to advertise critical positions and enhance strategic talent acquisition capabilities. Executive Communicator & Ambassador: Demonstrates exceptional communication skills, confidently briefing senior military leadership while acting as the face of STARCOM to build and maintain vital community and Department of War partnerships. Required Qualifications Minimum of two years of relevant HR experience, with at least one year at the next lower grade level. Currently hold an active Secret security clearance.
