Position Overview:
We are looking for a dependable and proactive Human Resources Generalist to support and help drive key HR functions in our busy manufacturing environment. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in HR who is ready to step into a more independent, hands-on role. You'll be involved in payroll support, employee relations, benefits coordination, and day-to-day HR operations for a workforce of approximately 120 employees.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll & Timekeeping:
- Assist in processing bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy in hours, overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
- Monitor and manage the timekeeping system; help resolve discrepancies with supervisors or employees.
- Support payroll reporting and ensure compliance with wage and hour regulations.
Employee Relations & Communication:
- Serve as a go-to resource for employees with questions about payroll, benefits, or policies.
- Help promote a positive and respectful workplace by supporting supervisors in addressing employee concerns.
- Participate in onboarding new hires and conducting exit processes for departing employees.
- Maintain accurate and confidential personnel records.
Benefits Coordination:
- Assist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee education on available options.
- Communicate with benefits providers to help resolve issues or questions.
- Track and report on PTO, leaves of absence, and other time-off requests.
Compliance & Administration:
- Help ensure compliance with federal and state labor laws, including FMLA, FLSA, and OSHA.
- Maintain and update employee handbooks, HR forms, and policy documentation.
- Support internal audits and reporting for HR and compliance purposes.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in HR, ideally in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment.
- Familiarity with payroll and HRIS systems (e.g., Paylocity).
- Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a high degree of professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented environment.
