As an intern student, you will be given similar responsibilities as a full‑time, entry‑level human resources coordinator, so you can experience what a career in a human resources department in construction will be like. You will work alongside the Denver District HR team, be involved in researching, planning, and executing HR special projects, and receive exposure to various areas of HR. We will designate a mentor for you who will be available for the duration of the internship/co‑op. You will also have the opportunity to participate in company events and community volunteer opportunities.
Here’s how a(n) Human Resources Internship for our Denver office contributes to our team:
Responsibilities
Get exposure to the various areas of Human Resources including recruitment, workforce diversity, training, professional development, health & wellness, and HR special projects and general administrative functions
Assist with research, coordination and administration of Human Resources programs and initiatives
Support the implementation of corporate and regional initiatives
Assist the HR team with planning and executing Denver District initiatives
Compose and prepare confidential correspondence, reports, and other documentation
Undertake research projects as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
A desire to pursue a career in Human Resources working in the construction industry.
Ideal candidate will have previous work experience in an office environment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to meet deadlines and stated objectives while managing shifting priorities.
Detail oriented and thorough.
Works well as part of a team and with minimal supervision.
Proficient with Microsoft Office and ability to learn other software programs.
Must be authorized to work in the US; PCL will not sponsor an employment visa (e.g., H1‑B, etc.) for this position; 18 years of age or older.
Available to work in Denver, CO, full time from September to December.
Employment with PCL is contingent upon passing a substance abuse test conducted by a third party.
The salary range for this position is between $20 and $26 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
