The Baltimore, MD Human Resources (HR) Site Manager is responsible for HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with production, warehouse/logistics, transportation, sales, and marketing management in participating in multiple HR functions such as recruitment and onboarding, employee relations, training, record keeping, performance management, policy implementation, communication and employment law compliance.
JOB DUTIES:
- Full-time in office at the Baltimore, MD location Monday through Friday, and off-schedule hours as needed.
- Responsible and accountable for managing all HR site resources and executing annual recruiting plan, employee engagement plan, and other initiatives as directed.
- Responsible and accountable for leading a team of three (3) direct reports, to include HR Admin, HR Recruiter, and HR Generalist. Also regularly interacts with Site Safety Manager and Site Safety Coordinator.
- Reports directly to the Director of Human Resources in Philadelphia, PA on a regular basis and, as needed; reports indirectly to the Site Plant Manager on a regular basis.
- Able to travel to the Philadelphia, PA Headquarters location on roughly a monthly basis for coordination meetings.
- Provides regular reporting of essential information and issues to Site Plant Manager and Headquarters.
- Assists in the implementation of personnel policies for our employees.
- Responsible for recruitment efforts including conducting phone screens, coordinating interviews with the hiring manager, and making employment offers.
- Coordinates post-offer pre-employment physicals and drug screens and submits online background investigations for new hires.
- Conducts new employee orientations on a monthly basis to include, but not limited to new hire paperwork, safety training, harassment training and benefits enrollment. Submit same into payroll in a timely manner.
- Verifies I-9 documentation and utilizes E-Verify to electronically submit data.
- Audits and partakes in all performance appraisals; coordinate with supervisors to discuss each of their department’s employees’ evaluation (30-day evaluation, 70-day evaluation, and annual evaluation, etc.).
- Informs and explains company provided benefits (medical benefits, 401k benefits, etc.) to new and current employees and submits completed enrollment paperwork in a timely fashion.
- Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Scans and organizes documents into employees’ files.
- Maintains personnel records ensuring timely and accurate records in HRIS system.
- Handles employee relations counseling and partakes and conducts employee investigations when needed.
- Conducts and administers all terminations and discipline when needed.
- Responsible for completing and filing unemployment claims and also attending unemployment hearings when needed.
- Attend weekly HR meetings.
Hours are Typically 8-4:30 M-F, OT as needed (not all that common though)
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
- A bachelor's degree in human resources, business, organization development & change, economics, statistics, business analytics, or related field. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a formal degree. Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in an HR Generalist/Recruiter position.
- Experience in a fast-paced environment is strongly desired.
- Experience in a manufacturing company is preferred.
- PHR/SHRM Certification preferred.
- Past experience with an HRIS system (UKG Pro and Kronos experience is desired).

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
