The Child and Family Team (CFT) Facilitator plays a pivotal role at the heart of child welfare decision‑making—guiding meaningful collaboration, amplifying family voices, and helping build lasting support systems that extend far beyond agency involvement. This position leads and coordinates critical Child and Family Team meetings for children and families involved in Child Welfare services, ensuring compliance with state and federal policy while maintaining a family‑centered, strengths‑based approach. The CFT Facilitator partners closely with social work staff, families, community supports, and internal agency teams to navigate complex, high‑risk situations and support safety, stability, and timely service delivery. In addition to facilitation responsibilities, this role collaborates with the fiscal team to support foster care payment processes and placement tracking, helping ensure accuracy, timeliness, and continuity of care for children in placement. The Facilitator also provides operational and programmatic support to foster care staff as needed, which may include assisting with client contacts, transportation, and other child welfare‑related duties as time and program needs allow. The Facilitator receives referrals from Child Welfare staff, coordinates and schedules meetings with all required participants, reviews social histories and relevant case information, facilitates structured and respectful discussions, and documents clear outcomes to support case planning and supervisory decision‑making. Meetings may take place in a variety of settings, including DSS offices, schools, and community locations, requiring flexibility and responsiveness. This role is essential to crisis response and safety planning in some of the agency’s most complex cases. The CFT Facilitator ensures mandatory meetings are conducted timely and effectively across Family and Investigative Assessments, In‑Home Services, and Placement Services, in alignment with Child Welfare policy and mandates. Successful candidates are dependable, detail‑oriented, and highly collaborative, with a strong commitment to punctuality, accountability, and professional excellence. State‑mandated training, including NC Preservice, Navigating the Role of the Facilitator, is required to ensure high‑quality facilitation and compliance, amongst other critical trainings. A valid N.C. driver’s license is required for this role, along with a clean driving record that aligns with Alamance County’s policies. Candidates who possess an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience are strongly encouraged to apply.
