THE POSITION

Are you interested in maintaining the quality of services provided in personal care homes and assisted living facilities? The Bureau of Human Services Licensing is hiring a Licensing Representative to conduct inspections and investigations of personal care homes and assisted living residences. This position comes with a high degree of independence and discretion, as assigned and in accordance with applicable statutes, regulations, policies, and procedures to determine compliance. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As part of the Bureau of Human Services Licensing in the Office of Long-Term Living, you conduct inspections for the purpose of enforcing state laws and regulations governing the licensing of personal care homes and assisted living residences to ensure the health, safety and well-being of personal care home and assisted living residence clients.

Some of the duties include conducting inspections of facilities to ensure regulations are being met, conducting investigations, identifying violations, and reviewing these violations with the facility staff. You will travel in the Southeast Region (Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, and Philadelphia counties) to oversee the licensing requirements of personal care homes and assisted living residences.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:


  • Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week
  • Work hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
    • Flexible work schedule
  • The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.
  • These positions are Home Headquartered (Work full-time from your home unless you are in the field)
  • You will travel, as necessary, throughout the Southeast Region - Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia counties.
  • Overtime as needed
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:


  • Two years of professional experience gathering and analyzing information in a social service or law enforcement program, and a bachelors degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery and Philadelphia Counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
