Overview:

Our client, a leading MEP Engineering firm, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer/Designer specializing in HVAC to join their production department. This role supports the mechanical team and contributes to meeting the demands of a growing client base. It offers significant growth opportunities for motivated professionals with industry expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop HVAC systems tailored to industrial, commercial office, manufacturing, mixed-use, warehouse, hospitality, and retail sectors.
  • Conduct field surveys, gather data, and perform heat gain/loss building load calculations.
  • Select equipment, create specifications, and design HVAC distribution systems.
  • Draft specifications, reports, and handle other technical editing and writing tasks.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring coordination with other disciplines to meet project goals.
  • Handle RFI submissions, review submittals and shop drawings, and perform field inspections.
  • Communicate with clients, regulatory authorities, and manage construction-phase inspections.
  • Conduct troubleshooting of HVAC systems as needed.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in CAD; Revit experience is highly advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Working knowledge of ICC Codes and industry standards.
  • Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented mindset and the ability to overcome obstacles promptly.

HVAC System Expertise:

  • Expertise in packaged + split DX cooling, VRF, DOAS, and chilled water systems.
  • Familiarity with hydronic hot water, steam heating, and geothermal systems.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in MEP engineering and design, with a preference for familiarity in mission-critical and pharmaceutical markets.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to meet project timelines.
